MORF Water Pumps

MORF supplies a limited range (½ HP and ¼ HP) of monoblock pumps under its brand name. These pumps are used mainly as filter feed pumps for our 1000 LPH and 750 LPH FERROUSFREE iron remover units.

The volute chamber and impellers of these pumps are designed to give the best possible hydraulic efficiency and suction lift for water contaminated with excessive iron (Ferrous). Sealing of these pumps is by means of a bellows mechanical seal made of carbon and ceramic is fitted over the shaft which is ground to close tolerance. These pumps are powered by a totally enclosed fan cooled AC induction two pole motor. Motor stator is made of low watt loss silicon steel laminations assembled under pressure and rigidly locked in the frame.

Dynamically balanced rotor ensures vibration-free and noise-free operations and also increases the life of the bearings and seal. The windings are of high-grade enameled copper wire and are varnish impregnated.

Construction of motor frames and usage of quality materials result in superior performance and lower temperature rise thereby increasing the lifecycle of the motor.

Installation of the Pump
The installation of the pump should be in such a place that the pump is easily accessible for regular inspection and it should be relatively free from dust, fumes and moisture. These pumps should be installed in a covered area, protected against the weather and it should not be installed in a tilted position. In the absence of a covered place for installation, a suitable motor cover should be provided.

The pump should not be wrapped with air tight materials such as polythene sheet, rubber sheet, canvas cloth etc. as condensation will form in tightly wrapped motor and as a result the winding may burn out.

Important Instructions

Ensure the suction lift is as short as possible

Installation of the pump should be according to our recommended head range

Pump must not be operated dry

Install water level monitor to protect from dry running

Reduce number of bends, elbows, 'T' bends and valves as much as possible

Use appropriate size, good quality cable and starter/protection device

The weight of the pipes should not be applied to the pump

Use ISI marked low friction, good quality pipes

Pipe diameter must never be smaller than the pump connections

The pump should be run for few minutes once in 2 days to prevent it from seizing
